Mr. James “Jimmy” Clement serves as Parish Manager for the Assumption Parish Police Jury. He has been employed with the Parish for over 28 years. Mr. Clement is responsible for the administration of energy conservation and maintenance of buildings, drainage operations, mosquito abatement, and Parish recreation areas. He is also responsible for the supervision and coordination of all functions of the public works’ facility for Assumption Parish and all work performed by all units of public works operations. In addition, Jimmy is responsible for the design and preparation of cost estimates of small construction projects and completion of annual road & bridge inspections. He is an LEPC member through the Police Jury and has been a member since its inception. Mr. Clement may be reached at assumptrb@cajunnet.com. ROAD & BRIDGES The department provides maintenance and/or materials for parish roads and bridges that may include such things as grading, pothole patching, and routine maintenance. DRAINAGE The department provides maintenance of ditches throughout the parish through the installation, cleaning and replacement of culverts. MOSQUITO ABATEMENT The department provides for the spraying of chemicals to reduce the mosquito population throughout the parish. SOLID WASTE Although the department is no longer responsible for the removal of trash, debris, etc. from the roadside, these services are contracted through Waste Management who can be contacted at 1-800-548-8597 for assistance. | |||||||||||||||||
