Ms. Kim M. Torres holds the position of Secretary-Treasurer with the Assumption Parish Police Jury. As Secretary-Treasurer, Kim is directly responsible for all financial and budgeting matters, personnel administration, policy development, record keeping, investment purchasing, and monitoring of purchasing activities throughout all parish departments. Kim also is responsible for the preparation of meeting agendas, meeting attendance, resolutions, ordinances, and minutes of all official jury meetings. In addition, Kim serves as Equal Opportunity Officer for the parish. In her capacity as EO Officer, she is responsible for procedures and practices of the Police Jury affecting equal opportunity in employment and participation in programs. Ms. Torres has also been appointed Public Informations Officer for the Office of Emergency Preparedness. In this capacity, she is responsible for informing the public, including the press, with updates on local occurrences concerning road closures, shelters, evacuation routes, etc. In addition, Kim is responsible for assisting the Office of Emergency Preparedness in civil defense and hazardous matter activities. Ms. Torres has been employed with the Assumption Parish Police Jury since January of 2000. Prior to her employment with the parish, Kim worked for a legal/tax firm for 10 years while earning a B. S. Degree in Business Administration. Ms. Torres may be reached at kimtorres@assumptionla.com.
